Ok, Planningcenter was being a butt regarding having an easy place to discuss things so I have started this blog. Relevant service information can still be found on Planningcenter, however, I will post the basics here and you can respond by leaving comments. Hope this works better!Scripture- Mark 1:4-11
Sermon:
Remembering the baptism of Jesus and the meaning of baptism for
all of us: being claimed by God, allowing the Holy Spirit to work within us,
remembering that we were blessed and our lives matter to God.

How about "I Surrender All" during the reaffirmation time? "Wade in the Water" could be the 3rd praise song. Also how about "CHange My Heart O Lord". Joe's song for closing sounds good if it's real singable for the congregation.
Also, last week the prayer seemed good between the 2nd and 3rd praise songs. -- Kathy
Joe had also left the suggestion (but it got deleted on accident) that we do Hootie's "Hold My Hand." It has themes of love, commitment, hope, and walking together (I think I remembered that right Joe?). This would be done as a closer.
I really like "Hold My Hand" - just listened to it on youtube. I don't think it will work for congregational singing, though. It would make a great solo for Scott. I don't know it, but I could easily learn the back-up vocals for Sunday, if we wanted it for an offertory and Scott happened to know it already. Or we could always use it later.
For a closer I suggest "Together We Serve". The music we have is in 3/4, but I remember we changed the rhythm and did it in 4, which gave it more drive. I would cut the 3rd verse to tighten it up.
I don't think we've done "Let Everything That Has Breath" for a while. That would be a good opening song.
